Jimmy's weblog

Since you are my readers, and I have not been much of a traveller, I will not talk about people a thousand miles off, but come as near home as I can. As the time is short, I will leave out all the flattery, and retain all the criticism. — Henry David Thoreau

St Maarten - What a blast!

Friday May 27, 2005 07:42

See below for a three amazing photos uploaded to Flickr by Gocarrt. They were taken on the tiny Caribbean island of St Maarten (Dutch) / St Martin (French). Occupying an area of just 37 square miles, St Maarteen / St Martin is the smallest land mass to be ruled by two governments, in this case Holland and France.

As the photos show, space is at a premium on the island and the main runway is literally just across the road from the beach.

Hey, dude, that’s the location of the add on telly - for a travel agency, I think. Always thought the add was a set-up; haven’t seen it on for a few months.

It’s a pretty amazing scene. I have to admit that I also thought they were fakes to begin with.
