Since you are my readers, and I have not been much of a traveller, I will not talk about people a thousand miles off, but come as near home as I can. As the time is short, I will leave out all the flattery, and retain all the criticism. — Henry David Thoreau

Anyone for online gambling?

Friday May 27, 2005 10:32

Wow, my very first comment-bot spamming with 51 online casino comments made in ten seconds. Unfortunately for the spammers, all comments must be moderated before appearing and even when they do, links to external sites use the “rel=’nofollow’” attribute so they won’t contribute to Google’s Pagerank.

The comments were all made from an IP address of 170.145.102.22, registered to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety. Here’s hoping they have more luck finding IT security staff who “…strive(s) to achieve excellence and a position of leadership by being a diverse, professional, entrepreneurial organization capable of responding to an ever-changing environment.

It is probably more sorrow for you than the spammers since you had to moderate the comment spam.

True, true. Not to mention the time that it took clearing the comment notification emails out of my inbox.
