Since you are my readers, and I have not been much of a traveller, I will not talk about people a thousand miles off, but come as near home as I can. As the time is short, I will leave out all the flattery, and retain all the criticism. — Henry David Thoreau

Melbourne - The world’s (equal) best city

Melbourne has retained its number one position as the world’s best city, sharing first position with Vancouver and Vienna, and ironically finishing ahead of other Australian capitals due to its good weather. No doubt this will surprise residents of other Australian cities who enjoy making fun of our changeable climate, but after drowning in San Francisco, freezing in New York, wasting away in Stockholm and melting in Malaysia, it’s good to be back and enjoying Melbourne’s warm, dry weather (at least for the next half an hour anyway).

London was ranked 45th, New York 51st, while Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea finished last, in position 130.
