OpenOffice.org 1.1 released

The latest version of OpenOffice.org has just been released and is available for download. OpenOffice.org features a word processor (Writer), a spreadsheet (Calc), a presentation tool (Impress), a drawing tool (Draw) as well as database tools to allow you to access and analyse data from a variety of free and commercial databases.

Some of the features of the new suite include:

  • Strong Writer support for styles (if you’ve ever tried to manage styles in Word, you’ll definitely appreciate the power and ease)
  • Full spreadsheet support including a large number of statistical and scientific functions, pivot tables and charts
  • Support for reading and writing of Microsoft Office files
  • An open XML file format
  • One click export to PDF
  • Export to Flash to create standalone presentations

.org 1.1 is available for free download from http://www.openoffice.org/.
